Two arrested after Brentwood hotel clerks robbed, sexually assaulted

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Metro Nashville police made arrests in a frightening crime that targeted two female hotel clerks late Tuesday in Brentwood.

According to police, two men with guns entered the lobby of the Hyatt Place Hotel on Stone Brook Drive at about 3:00pm. Tuesday. They demanded the two hotel clerks to give them money from the register.

After the victims complied, police said one of the robbers held one of the victims at gunpoint while the other suspect sexually assaulted the second clerk.

The two men drove away in an orange Ford Mustang.

Officers said that unusual vehicle description is what led them to make arrests just hours later.

Metro police said two officers spotted the getaway car on the interstate and followed it onto Rosa Parks Boulevard toward Metro Center. The vehicle eventually pulled over in a parking lot and 25-year-old Louis Steele and 26-year-old Tony Gooch were both detained.

The two victims later identified Steele and Gooch as their attackers during a line-up.

Steele is charged with aggravated rape, aggravated robbery, and aggravated assault. Gooch is charged with aggravated robbery and aggravated assault.
