Holly Bobo Trial – Day 5
September 15, 2017
9:00 a.m. – Court resumes
9:02 a.m. – Brian Vitt, Camden City Police Officer, takes the stand
9:15 a.m. – Vitt's testimony ends
9:15 a.m. – Randy McDee , TV Installer
9:38 a.m. - Angela Scott Smith, Autry's ex-girlfriend, takes the stand.
9:46 a.m. – Color Bars
9:48 a.m. – Victor Dismore takes the stand. He is the person that sold drugs to Zach, Dylan. Shane gave gun to him in exchange for pills. He claimed he didn't trust Zach Adams. "He was afraid it had a body on it", meaning he thought that someone had been killed with it. Gave information to the TBI as to where the gun could be found in a creek on Holliday Road. They used metal detectors and back hoes, but, didn't find the gun. After consulting with his wife, they figured out where the gun was after the landscape had changed significantly since the gun was originally disposed of. The gun was traded for 12 morphine pills.
11:00 a.m. – Dinsmore break down on stand after the mention of his son being murdered, and as a result he wanted to help the Bobo family in any way he could.
11:12 a.m. – Recess
11:31 a.m. – Brent Booth, TBI Special Agent, takes the stand.
12:20 p.m. – Recess
1:30 p.m. – Court resumes
2:00 p.m.- Cross of Agent Booth begins
2:21 p.m.– Under re-direct of Agent Booth he discloses that Holly's mother Karen, had lied to agents that she was 17 so that they would issue an Amber alert for her, he said that's not the case.
2:24 p.m. – 15-minute recess
2:45 p.m.– Court resumes, Steve Deaton is called to the stand by the prosecution. Diving Rescue and
Recovery. They use underwater metal detectors to find objects. They were called out to Holiday Road
to conduct a thorough search for every piece of metal in the creek. They located a metal object, identified as a revolver while utilizing an underwater metal detector. Upon finding the item, he replaced
it on the bottom and then notified a TBI agent for further examination. He is shown pictures of the location and the revolver and the photos are entered into evidence.
3:06 p.m.– Cervinia Brasswell, forensic scientist with TBI will testify regarding ballistics of the Arnemis .32 caliber weapon found in creek. She was able to restore the gun to operable after soaking it in
penetrating oil and was able to test fire the weapon with the same type of cartridge that was found in
the gun when recovered.
3:14 p.m. – The recovered cartridges are entered into evidence.
3:18 p.m. – Images of tested cartridges are sent into a national database to compare the patterns from the cartridges to other crimes to link them to.
3:24 p.m. – Agent Brasswell is excused.
3:28 p.m. – Court dismissed for the day.
