NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Police say no injuries were reported after a Berry Hill police officer fired his gun during a burglary investigation.
The incident happened around 1 a.m. Monday next to the ACS building on Grissom Drive. Berry Hill Police Chief Timothy Coleman confirmed the 54-year-old officer, who was not named, rolled up on a burglary in progress.
At some point, he fired at the suspect or suspects. It’s not clear if anyone was hurt.
Investigators later recovered a white van with Tennessee plates at Fairground Court. Police say it had been reported stolen.
Coleman said he asked Metro Nashville Police to take over the investigation. The officer involved has been placed on administrative leave, which is protocol.
