BELLE MEADE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Turning 100 is something to celebrate and one Belle Meade man didn't let the pandemic get in the way of his big day.
Monnie Lusky was born on February 6, 1921. Saturday his family threw a drive-thru birthday parade- complete with an appearance from Belle Meade police officers- to honor his birthday.
The former Marine flew over the Philippines in World War Two. He has two children, seven grandkids, and six great grandkids.
Although we're told he was originally hesitant about Saturday's celebration, he said the outpouring of support was overwhelming. "And I have been flattered to where I have tears of joy for the flattery that's been shown to me," said Lusky.
Mr. Lusky still lives on his own, drives his car, and enjoys what he calls a "libation" every night.
