A Bedford County Sheriff’s deputy has been indicted for alleged theft and misconduct.
Officials with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said Garcia Romero Jordan has been accused of withdrawing money from ATMs in Bedford and Rutherford counties from the account of an elderly Shelbyville woman that he befriended for his own benefit.
Agents began investigating Jordan back on Match 14.
The TBI said he also concealed a civil warrant placed on a contractor to whom he owed money for work performed at his home.
Jordan was indicted Monday on one count of theft over $60,000 and one count of official misconduct.
He was booked into the Bedford County Jail on a $25,000 bond.
