NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — With upcoming NFL Draft festivities, thousands of airport travelers will be touching down in Nashville all week.

The Airport Communications Center at Nashville International Airport operates 24/7 and employees said they are prepared to make sure everything runs smoothly as 100,000 more visitors are expected to fly through BNA.

Director of Emergency Management Adam Floyd said the airport has more than 700 security cameras watching travelers, airport employees and vendors.

“The Airport Communications Center is a state-of-the-art facility that coordinates responses to requests for emergency and non-emergency services. We have our own police officers, aircraft rescue firefighting, and EMS personnel,” Floyd said.

Floyd said he does expect to see a record-breaking number of travelers arrive and depart from BNA this week. He encourages people to pack their patience and arrive at least two hours earlier for departure flights.

“We don’t just deal with security. This week so far we’ve had to have employees also direct vehicles coming into the airport,” he said.
