A few snowflakes may fall over the weekend

But they're not expected to stick around

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — One more bitter cold night before temperatures warm to near normal this weekend.

It's also our last dry night. Rain will work into the area by late Friday night and stick with us throughout the day on Saturday. Light pesky showers will linger into Sunday also. For most of middle Tennessee the weekend will be just cold and damp, but for folks North of I-40 there will be a few opportunities for a mix of snow and rain.

The first chance comes Friday night, nothing is expected to stick and we should transition quickly to all rain.

The second chance comes early Sunday morning as temperatures dip into the mid 30s for areas North of Nashville. The final chances will come early Monday morning as the system finally exits the area.

No widespread accumulations are expected, but it is possible that our extreme Northern and Northeastern tier may see a dusting either Sunday or Monday as the colder air filters in. One thing everyone can count on is a much colder weekend than last weekend with widespread soggy conditions for all.
