NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Six people remained hospitalized Friday morning after a car rear-ended a pedal tavern in Nashville Thursday night, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.

Police said 13 people were on the pedal tavern, including the driver. Ten were taken to St. Thomas Midtown, Centennial, Skyline and Vanderbilt hospitals.

As of early Friday morning, six of those patients remained at Vanderbilt. Police said all of the injuries were non-life-threatening and the six people still hospitalized were in stable condition.

Those aboard the pedal tavern ranged in age from 40 to 67 and included groups from Illinois, Missouri, Louisiana and India, according to police.

MNPD said the driver of the car showed no signs of impairment, had a valid driver's license and told officers he was distracted by his radio when he rear-ended the pedal tavern.

In a statement Friday, Nashville Pedal Tavern said several of its guests were injured and taken to the hospital and that it is fully cooperating with MNPD’s investigation.

“Our hearts are with our guests, our team member, and their families,” the company said.

The company said safety has been central to its operations for 16 years and that it has served hundreds of thousands of guests in Nashville.

“We are deeply saddened by what happened last night,” the statement said.
