3 Sentenced In DeKalb County Kidnapping Case

SMITHVILLE, Tenn. – Three men have been sentenced in a kidnapping case from DeKalb County.

Officials with the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office said Jimmy Hendrixson, Jr., Casey Jacobs and Comas Brian Higgins were charged with two counts of especially aggravated kidnapping.

According to WGNS News Radio, each man pleaded guilty to get a lesser charge.

Hendrixson was sentenced to 12 years for kidnapping, while Jacobs and Higgins received a six year sentence for aggravated assault. 

The attack happened in DeKalb County in July 2014.

Deputies said a man and woman were beaten with an ax handle, tied up and had their mouths taped shut.

The man was able to escape and call for help, but the woman was taken to a home on Old Snow Hill Road in Dowelltown. She was later rescued by authorities.

Neither of them was seriously hurt in the attack.
