21 total Davidson County inmates test positive for COVID-19, 17 considered recovered

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The Davidson County Sheriff's Office said a total of 21 inmates have tested positive for COVID-19.

As of Wednesday, four inmates currently still have active cases and 17 have recovered from the virus.

The sheriff's office said they have placed 44 inmates, which includes the four who have not yet recovered, on "COVID restriction."

The department has also had nine employee test positive overall, but six have recovered and returned to work.

On May 13, the jail's total population was 957.
