A 4th of July celebration in Wilson County came to a halt when emergency crews rescued 21 people from a boat on Old Hickory Lake.
The boat ran ashore and got stuck in the mud and rocks. Officials said the incident was not caused by severe weather, but did happen while storms moved through the area.
During the rescue, smoke could be seen coming from the boat. It too crews about two and a half hours to clear the boat.
Wilson County Emergency Management Agency, Marine 13, Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency and Hendersonville Fire responded to the scene to help get everyone off the boat.
