16-Year-Old Shot In Driveway Of Antioch Home

ANTIOCH, Tenn. – A 16-year-old was shot at least twice after he was ambushed by at least one gunman in the driveway of his Antioch home.

The incident happened shortly after 10 p.m. Thursday at a residence on Firelight Trail.

Officials with Metro police said the teenager had just returned to his home when an unknown gunman came from the side and shot him. 

The victim was apparently sitting in his car when the suspect opened fire, striking him in his jaw and side. His mother was inside the garage when she heard gunshots. 

He was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he was said to be in stable condition. 

The motive for the shooting remains unknown.

According to investigators, more than one suspect was involved. 

There were no eyewitnesses to shooting ans investigators have not been able to speak with the victim. 

A handgun was recovered at the scene.
