A total of 10,000 shoes were donated to Metro Nashville students in need.

With every purchase of BOBS shoes from Skechers the group Soles4Soles donates a pair of shoes to someone in need.

Tuesday's Soles4Summer distribution event gave those shoes to children in Middle Tennessee. The students came from 33 different Metro schools.

Mayor Megan Barry visited Charlotte Park Elementary to help celebrate the donation.

"Anytime you get to fit a child with some new shoes for the summer it's really meaningful, and of course with our kids, we've got a 19% poverty rate, and these kids need shoes. The fact that Soles4Souls stepped up and is going to give 10,000 shoes to our Metro Schools students is really impactful,” said Barry.

This was the third year that Soles4Souls have worked with Metro schools.
