The Canadian town of St. George, Ont. has decided to celebrate Christmas two months early in honor of 7-year-old Evan Leversage who has brain cancer.
According to the CBC, Evan has been affected by brain cancer for five years. Doctors told Evan's family that they should consider celebrating Christmas early this year.
It will definitely be a celebration.
An entire Christmas parade has been planned for Saturday, Oct. 24 in the small town near Toronto. Twenty-five floats have registered for the parade organized by family members.
On Facebook, an event promoting the parade has more than 3,000 registered attendees. And yes, Santa Clause will be making his way through streets of St. George, past Evan's home.
According to the CBC, hundreds of homes in the town are decked in Christmas décor.
"You look out our front window, the entire street is lit up," Nicole Wellwood, Evan's mother, said. "Everywhere you look, it's Christmas. It's more than I could have imagined. When Evan looks out his window, the backyard is decorated and there's a sign saying 'Merry Christmas.'"
Relative Shelly Wellwood setup a GoFundMe page for her family. The page has raised more than $13,000 as of Thursday afternoon to assist the family with personal expenses.
