NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Singer, songwriter and actor Kris Kristofferson has announced his retirement after five decades. He's also named a manager for his estate.
A statement from his publicist said the estate of the Country Music Hall of Famer and Grammy winner will be managed by Morris Higham Management. Kristofferson's son, John, stepped in last year to oversee his father's business including his record label.
The Texas-born Oxford scholar brought introspective and poetic lyrics to country music with songs like “Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down” and “Me and Bobby McGee.” He was a member of the supergroup The Highwaymen and starred in 70 films over his career.
