A woman was shot when a gunman followed her home after a road rage incident in Antioch.
The shooting happened shortly before 3 a.m. Friday at the Bell Hollow Apartments on Cane Ridge Road.
Officials with Metro Nashville Police said a woman had just driven into a parking space when a four-door, dark sedan pulled up beside her.
At some point, someone in the car opened fire – striking the victim in the leg and backside. Another woman was also in the car at the time.
The victim was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with serious injuries.
Officers found one gunshot to the car.
Preliminary information indicated the shooting may have been the result of a road rage incident, according to police.
The investigation remained ongoing.
A second drive-by shooting happened a few hours later on Friday morning on Wallace Road. It was unknown if the two crimes were related.
