ANTIOCH, Tenn. (WTVF) — A fire forced people out of an apartment complex in Antioch late Thursday.

The fire started just after 11 p.m. at the Chimney Top Apartments just off of Cane Ridge Road.

One of the units on the top floor of a building was on fire and spread to nearby units.

People who live there said they were startled when the fire alarm went off so late at night.

"I was in the house cooking and all of the sudden the building alarm went off," said Stephanie Williams, one of the residents of the apartment complex. "At first I thought it was inside the apartment, but when I went outside I saw the amber lights and I looked to see the other apartment ablaze and flames."

The Fire Marshal’s Office will investigate to determine the cause of the fire.
