PUTNAM CO., Tenn. (WTVF) — A tractor trailer caught fire during a wreck on Interstate 40 East Saturday morning, shutting down multiple lanes for hours.

According to Tennessee Highway Patrol's report, the crash involved a Nissan Versa and semi truck near Exit 273 in Silver Point around 9:30 a.m.

After impact, the truck jack-knifed a guard rail fence and the concrete median, catching on fire.

Putnam County Fire crews say the truck was fully engulfed in flames. They were able to extinguish the fire.

No injuries were reported.

The scene has been cleared.
