A local man was honored by the Postal Service after working at a post office for 50 years.
In this day of change and fast moving careers, it’s not often you hear of someone working for a company for 50 years.
Yet, Richard McDonald celebrated his golden anniversary Wednesday at the Belle Meade post office where he delivers mail.
When he started, stamps were six-cents each and mail was delivered by three-wheeled vehicles.
McDonald said he loves that he has years of experience, and enjoys the rewards of a job well done each day.
