Metro Nashville Police investigators have asked for the public’s help in identifying driver that hit a pedestrian on I-440 east Friday night.
Detectives said it happened around 8 p.m. near the Richardson Avenue overpass.
A driver in a silver/gray Honda sedan critically injured 44-year-old Lan T. Luong.
Luong was sent to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Witnesses on I-440 reported that the Honda was traveling at a high rate of speed when it hit the victim.
They said he was walking in the striped area between the interstate travel lanes and the merge lanes from West End Avenue.
Officers were told the Honda stopped momentarily then sped away.
Witnesses described the Honda as a four-door sedan with blue glow lights underneath. The collision shattered the Honda’s passenger side mirror.
It was unclear why Luong was walking on the interstate. Detectives asked anyone with information about the Honda and/or its driver to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463 or the Emergency Communications Center at 615-862-8600.
