Metro Police say a woman was shot and then drove herself a mile and a half away to a popular downtown restaurant Tuesday.
They got the call around 3 p.m. from Demos' restaurant on 3rd Ave North, just north of Commerce Street.
A portion of the road was blocked off as police investigated, marking three visible bullet holes on the side of the woman's car. Northbound traffic was diverted onto Commerce Street in front of the restaurant until just before 5 p.m.
Demos' manager Juan Vega-Romero said the woman was a former employee who hasn't worked at the restaurant for a while, but still had friends there.

Demos' employees knew something was wrong when she entered the restaurant and they called an ambulance to help. They think she drove there because it was a familiar place and they said she seemed very disoriented at the time.
Police say she was conscious when she went to the hospital. Demos' employees also referred her to the company's chaplain. Police did not know her condition Tuesday afternoon.
