NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Metro Nashville police are investigating what caused a semi truck to crash on I-24 near downtown Nashville, closing westbound lanes for hours.

The crash happened at about 10:30p.m. Sunday near the Shelby Avenue exit.

According to police, the tractor-trailer rolled and caught on fire. The driver was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with minor injuries.

Metro police closed all westbound lanes as hazmat crews had to respond to the scene to clean a fuel spill.

All westbound lanes were reopened at 4:30a.m.
