A North Nashville club has been padlocked after Metro Nashville Police deemed it to be a public nuisance.

In an early-morning Tweet, Metro Police said they began raiding the Kilimanjaro Sports Bar on Arctic Avenue, just off Brick Church Pike, around 6 a.m. Friday.

No one would be allowed in or out of the club until at least February 15, at which point a hearing would be held.

According to investigators, they've been called to the location 120 times in the past four years for incidents ranging from deadly shootings to assaults.

Three fatal shootings happened at the bar between May 2015 and September 2016.

Police said it's been a “drain on the North Nashville Precinct” for a while. Nearby business owners have made numerous complaints about the club, saying some of their customers had been scared away.

During a press conference, police officials said the raid and padlocking of the club was not a quick reaction. They added the business has served alcohol and marijuana to minors, in addition to being a meeting place for gangs.
