Police Search for 1 of 2 Suspects In Fatal Nashville Gas Station Shooting

Metro Nashville Police arrested one suspect and were still searching for a second in connection with a deadly shooting at a north Nashville gas station.

Officials with Metro Nashville Police said 20-year-old Terry Martin was taken into custody in Dyersburg.

The incident happened early Friday morning at the Marathon gas station on John A. Merritt Boulevard.

Police said 35-year-old Quinton Thornton was at a pump near his car when he was shot.

Thornton reportedly got into a conversation with Martin and 57-year-old Danny Haskins outside of an older model gray Lincoln Continental.

Police said when Thornton walked over to the car, he was shot in the back before the Haskins jumped into the Lincoln with the Martin who was driving and fled.

He was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he later died.

A motive in the shooting was not yet known. Police later released surveillance photos of the shooter and getaway driver involved in the crime.
