A woman was killed in a late-night crash along Interstate 40 East in Dickson County.
The incident happened near mile marker 172 just before 11:30 p.m. Monday.
Officers on the scene said the female driver was headed east and made a left turn to go the opposite way on the interstate. She was hit head-on by a semi-truck.
Drugs and alcohol were allegedly in the car but an autopsy would be performed to see if she was under the influence.
Her name was not released.
The semi driver was not badly hurt.
