A large trash compactor continued to burn west of Nashville hours after the facility caught fire.
The blaze broke out Wednesday morning at Southern Salvage, located on Linder Industrial Drive across from Centennial Boulevard.
The cause of the fire was unknown.
These types of fires can be especially difficult to extinguish because there’s so much fuel involved.
Most of the flames have been put out, but smoke could be seen as the structure continues to smolder.
At least one building was either badly damaged or destroyed.
No one was hurt in the blaze.
