Many roads in Middle Tennessee remained icy following Friday's snowstorm, largely due to the fact that they have been in the shade of trees, buildings, or bridges.
On Sunday, one man was out on the streets in Antioch salting the road in front of a local school.
“I thought they would have cleared this out, it’s a school zone," Manuel Flores said. "The school is right there, so there’s going to be a lot of cars coming through here tomorrow.”
Flores bought the salt on his own dime after seeing how many people struggled traveling along Pin Hook Road.
“I’m just trying to keep my neighbors from getting stuck. Trying to keep everybody from colliding into each other and getting stuck on the side of the ditches," Flores explained.
Representatives from the Metro Nashville Police Department warned roads that don't receive adequate sunshine during the day can have ice on the road much longer than other roads, and drivers should continue to use caution following Friday's snowstorm.
