A semi hauling potatoes and products used to make chili caught fire overnight while traveling on Interstate 840 in Williamson County.
The incident happened before 2 a.m. Thursday near mile marker 41 in the Arrington area.
Officials with the Tennessee Highway Patrol said the driver pulled over when he saw his trailer on fire in the rearview mirror.
He dislocated his truck from the trailer and was able to escape the blaze.

Firefighters who responded to the scene believe his brakes may have started the fire. Crews said he was hauling food products used to make chili.
Burnt potatoes could be seen scattered along I-840 West.
The tractor trailer was on its way to Alabama to deliver food to various fast food chains, according to crews.
