No Injuries Reported In Franklin County School Bus Fire

A school bus driver has been commended after safely getting students off of a bus that caught on fire in Franklin County.

Authorities said the incident happened Friday with a school bus that covers the Lexie Crossroads area.

Reports stated the bus caught on fire with 17 students and the driver on board.

The driver’s quick actions got all of the children off safely with no injuries reported.

Those with the fire department said the bus was a total loss.

Crews from the Lexi Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department, Broadview Volunteer Fire Department, and Huntland Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene, as well as the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and Franklin County EMA.

“We were very fortunate that this situation was no worse than it was, and no injuries reported,” said Franklin County Sheriff Tim Fuller. “The joint efforts of our emergency responders were excellent.”
