Officials in Murfreesboro said they’re searching for a missing 16-year-old.

According to reports, 16-year-old Devin Ray Bond was last seen when he went to bed late Thursday night at his Armor Place home.

Around 10 a.m. Friday, authorities said his 9-year-old brother confirmed Bond had put towels and pillows under a blanket to make it look like he was still in bed asleep.

"We have been trying to have a big Facebook, social media sharing, family sharing. Everybody is just trying to get the word out, get his face out there so we can find him," Heather Simmers-Bond, his mother, said.

Several of Bond’s friends have been out of town for spring break, but those the family contacted did not know of Bond’s whereabouts.

There have been reports he may have been in the Barfield Park area on Veteran’s Parkway Saturday.

K-9 units have been called in to assist in the search.

Bond's family said he's a freshman at Riverdale High School where he's also a member of the football team.

"Please come home. You're not in trouble. We love you. Just please come home," his mother said.

Anyone with information has been asked to call the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office at 615-898-7770.
