A Storm 5 Alert has been issued as rain and storms move through the northern portion of our viewing area.
The alert was issued for late Sunday night, around midnight, till noon Monday. Reports stated heavy rain and thunderstorms were moving through the area, producing heavy downpours. Click here to view the current radar.
The possibility of those storms moving through was becoming more likely heading through the overnight hours and into Monday morning.
Meteorologists said there was a lot of moisture in the atmosphere over West Tennessee that was shifting to the Mid-State and Southern Kentucky, providing the support for rain rates as high as a few inches an hours.
A Flash Flood Watch has been issued for counties along and north of Interstate 40.
Sunday night, a Flash Flood Warning was issued for Robertson and Sumner counties until 11:30 p.m.
