A large fire at a vacant house as been ruled suspicious.

The fire happened around 3 a.m. Sunday at a vacant home in the 1400 block of 4th Avenue South.

The home was fully involved with flames that were shooting 75 to 100 feet in the air when crews arrived at the scene.

Authorities said the fire was suspicious in nature because the home was vacant, meaning there was no power to the home and no lightning in the area at that time.

Officials also confirmed they responded to a fire at the same place in October.

Reports stated the home was a total loss with nothing left of the structure. Next door at a body shop, cars and a boat were damaged, and siding was melted on the building.

The investigation remained ongoing.
