A family gathered outside a hotel in Clarksville when they were supposed to be heading to a family reunion in Virginia Beach. Instead, they were passing out flyers, searching, and praying for their missing loved one.
De'Andre Marquis Palmer, a country boy from Georgia was making his own way working for a plumbing company in Clarksville. The 19-year-old was the oldest of eight siblings and planned to move back home to Georgia this week.
"He was going to pick up a part for his car because he was going to move back to Georgia," said his mother, Latisha Poole.
While he lived with another family in Clarksville, he spoke to his mother everyday.
"The last time I talked to him was Friday. I called him Saturday, his phone went straight to voicemail. Tried him again Sunday morning, his phone went straight to voicemail again," she explained.
Saturday was the last time anyone saw him. "The last actual location was in Oak Grove," she said.
Oak Grove, Kentucky was also where police found the truck he was driving, but no signs of De'Andre.
"Somebody did something to my baby," Poole said.
"We're suspecting foul play," De'Andre's stepfather, Orlando Sewell, said.
On Wednesday a patrolling officer found a body in the woods off of Carter Road in Oak Grove. On Thursday evening they reported the body was that of a black man; however, his identity remained unknown.
"We're praying that he is [alive] because right now nobody has given us information about the body they recovered," said Sewell.
In the meantime, a mother has been struggling to stay strong while the disappearance of her son weighs on all of them.
"I'm going to be here until I find my child. I'm not leaving Tennessee without De'Andre Marquis Palmer," said Poole.
