More than one hundred people have been recovering after completing the "Nashville Ultra Marathon."
The race included a 50 mile course, as well as a 50K, 60K, and 70K options on Saturday.
About 50 people signed up to run all 50 miles, that's about the distance of two regular marathons.
The race director estimated the first place 50 mile finisher would take about six hours, while other runners would take ten or more hours cross the finish line.
We spoke with one runner around the 17-mile mark.
“I really got into Ultra running after running about ten marathons, so I'll try something different, go a little bit longer,” the runner, Guido Hussels, said.
This was the eighth year of the event, and organizers said Ultra marathons with these long distances have been gaining in popularity.
