A woman was taken into custody after allegedly hitting a construction worker in Nashville and then fleeing the scene.
The incident was reported around 4 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Belmont Park Terrace and Castleman Drive.
According to an affidavit from Metro Nashville Police, a witness saw the driver - identified as Julie Keith - hit the construction worker and then drive off.
From there, he followed her and told her that she hit someone. She returned to the scene until police arrived.
Keith reportedly told officers that she thought she hit an orange cone.
Police said she showed signs of impairment during a field sobriety task.
She was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence. Authorities said she had three prior DUI’s.
