A cargo fire has shut down a portion of Interstate 840 in Rutherford County.
The incident happened around 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the westbound lanes near miler make 59, a couple miles past West Jefferson Pike.
The roadway was closed to westbound drivers. Eastbound traffic was experiencing some rubbernecking delays.
Authorities expected the roadway to be cleared by 6:45 p.m.
