Family and friends held a candlelight vigil to remember a father shot and killed at a west Nashville restaurant.

Robert Saine, age 36, was pronounced dead at the hospital after police said an argument led to a shooting outside the Waffle House on White Bridge Pike.

The shooting happened around 2:30 a.m. Sunday. The gunmen were not caught as of Sunday night.

Those close to Saine described him as someone who was always fun and energetic. He was also part of a Nashville car club called Nashville INC.

"He just liked being part of something positive," Kelly Beavers, a friend, told NewsChannel 5. "He was a breath of fresh air to our club."

Members and Saine's family gathered in Madison as they said a prayer and shared memories they had with him.

"He was somebody, he was a great father, a great husband. He was just a good person," Beavers tearfully said. "He was always happy."

Saine left behind his wife and four children.

Anyone with information about the shooting has been urged to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
