Police have asked the public’s help in locating a car that may have been used in an attempted theft in Antioch.
The incident was reported overnight Friday at a home on Piccadilly Row in Antioch.
Officials with Metro Nashville Police said a suspect tried to steal lawn equipment from a man's yard.
The homeowner, armed with a shotgun, came outside and fired several rounds.
The blasts missed the suspect but struck the alleged getaway vehicle. Another person inside the car was able to drive away.
Police said because the victim was outside his home, he could not legally fire at the suspects.
At this time, the homeowner was not facing charges since no one was apparently struck by gunfire. The shotgun was taken into custody as evidence.
