Eight people have been detained after an attempted gun store burglary in Lebanon turned into a cross-county pursuit that ended in north Nashville.

Officials said an officer spotted suspicious individuals at the Lebanon Gun Shop on Hartman Drive around 3 a.m. Monday.

"I think that we foiled their plans, there were markings on the doors that looked like they may have tried, but our officer rolled up on them before they made entry," Cpl. PJ Hardy said.

From there, they took off on foot before fleeing in a stolen vehicle down Interstate 40.

Around the same time, Lebanon Police received a call of an armed robbery. Authorities said the alleged victim turned out to be another person involved in the attempted burglary.

Lebanon officers and troopers with the Tennessee Highway Patrol chased down the car along I-40.

The vehicle finally stopped in an alley at Formosa Street between 21st and 22nd Avenues North.

One of the men took off on foot but was bitten by a K9. He was taken to General Hospital and was treated.

Four others ran into a house on 22nd Avenue North where they were apprehended and taken to the North Precinct for questioning.

Police have confirmed that two others have been detained, as well.
