Posted

Police have been searching for the identities of four young men who allegedly carjacked a woman on the campus on Lipscomb University.

The crime happened around 11 p.m. Saturday as the woman was sitting in her vehicle on the campus in the 3900 block of Granny White Pike.

Authorities said she had been pulling out of the parking lot of the Lipscomb Academy where she works when she stopped to text a family member.

Reports stated one of the suspects tapped on her driver-side window with a handgun while she was texting.

The suspect told her to get out of her vehicle. She reached for her purse, which was when a second suspect appeared on her passenger side and said, “You’re not taking that.”

As the victim got out of her car, she noticed a third suspect. The gunman then told her to run.

Authorities said she called police from a nearby home after the suspects fled in her vehicle.

The four suspects got to the scene of the crime in a Toyota 4 Runner with a sunroof and possibly a sticker in the lower part of the windshield on the driver's side.

According to reports, the victim’s vehicle has not been recovered. Authorities said it’s a 2003 blue Hyundai Sonata with a Tennessee license plate R1500W.
