A third suspect has been arrested following the carjacking of a 63-year-old woman.

Authorities confirmed they took 20-year-old Javontae M. Williams into custody at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday at a relative's home on 22nd Avenue North.

Williams has been charged with robbery-carjacking. He was being held in lieu of a $50,000 bond.

Reports stated Williams also gave information that led officials to the recovery of the victim’s vehicle Wednesday morning in a parking lot on West End Avenue.

Two other suspects, identified as 18-year-old Brendon Prettyman and 18-year-old Justin Webb, were both taken into custody in the case on August 12. Officials said on Wednesday that both remained in jail.

The 63-year-old victim was leaving work at Lipscomb Academy in the 3900 block of Granny White Pike on August 5 when she stopped her vehicle in a parking lot to text a family member.

That’s when three or four suspects, at least one allegedly armed, carjacked her. She called officials from a nearby home after the suspects fled in her vehicle.

Police said it’s believed a fourth person was involved. The investigation remained ongoing.
