2 Wanted After Attacking 59-Year-Old Woman

Officials said they’re searching for two robbers who attacked a 59-year-old woman as she walked to her apartment.

The incident happened near the right field entrance to First Tennessee Park around 10:55 p.m. Saturday.

Reports stated the 59-year-old victim had gone to a performance at TPAC and was walking on Junior Gilliam Way on her way to her 3rd Avenue North apartment.

That’s when two men, not knowing they were being recorded on surveillance cameras, came up from behind and hit her in the head with a metal stake, knocking her to the ground.

Police said the two suspects took the woman’s purse and cell phone. They fled from the scene on foot in different directions.

 

 

The victim was taken to the hospital. Reports said she had a serious gash to her head.

Both robbers were described as young men, possibly in their late teens.

One was wearing a long black jacket, red pants, and black shoes with white soles. The second suspect had on a gray hoodie, blue jeans, and white shoes.
