Fire crews in Murfreesboro responded to a fire in an apartment parking lot involving two cars.
The fire happened just before 7 a.m. Thursday in the parking lot of Richland Falls Apartments in the 500 block of Dill Lane.
One vehicle was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived on scene. Authorities said the vehicle next to it also ignited. The fire involved the initial vehicle’s fuel tank.
Officials said crews jumped quickly into action and sprayed foam to put the blaze out.
The fire was contained to the parking lot. No buildings were damaged.
An airbag did explode and land on a second floor balcony. No injuries were reported.
The fire was under investigation, but it was believed a mechanical malfunction in the initial vehicle was likely the cause of the fire.
