Two people were found dead following a single-vehicle crash in Hardin County when an SUV went off a boat ramp.
Officials said the wreck happened around 12:43 p.m. Saturday on State Highway 69 in Saltillo.
According to reports, a 1997 Mercury Mountaineer was eastbound when it entered a boat ramp and went into the river, becoming completely submerged.
It’s believed the driver, identified as 64-year-old Ritchie V. Weaver, of Milledgeville, escaped but drowned.
Also killed was his passenger, identified as 63-year-old Ronnie K. Steele, of Bethel Springs.
Further details were not immediately available. Authorities said the official cause of death for each victim would be determined by the medical examiner.
