Friday morning, authorities confirmed both 31-year-old Lewis Shuler and 25-year-old Tiffany Biggs were taken into custody in the case.

According to reports, Cross lived by Shuler and Biggs on Charles E. Davis Boulevard in the J.C. Napier public housing development.

Police said Cross left with them just after 1 a.m. Thursday in a black Dodge Charger.

Reports stated the Charger went to the area of South 4th Street and Shelby Avenue. Cross' body was found by a citizen at 1:40 a.m. Thursday. The citizen called police.

Authorities said it's believed Shuler and Biggs went back to the J.C. Napier area alone just before driving to Mildred Shute Avenue where the Charger was set on fire. Officials said the car was recovered on Thursday.

The two were being held in Metro Jail in lieu of a $1 million bond each.
