A suspect remains at large following a robbery and shooting over the weekend in Smyrna. He was considered armed and dangerous.
Officials with Smyrna Police said Adrin Ohaekwe was one of two men who robbed three men inside a home Saturday night.
Police said they initially responded to Stone Crest Hospital around 7:55 p.m. in regards to a victim with a gunshot wound to the chest.
The victim, identified as Dallas Padgett, had apparently been shot in the 200 block of Caroline Lee Drive. Several bullet casings were found in the street, as well as inside a home at that location.
As of Sunday, Padgett was reportedly listed in stable condition.
Investigators said Ohaekwe and another suspect, identified as Glenn Roby, allegedly robbed three men -- Padgett, Graden Strang, and Luke Murray -- inside a home over a marijuana sale.
Several rounds were allegedly fired during the robbery, and one of those hit Padgett in the chest. Both suspects fled and shot at two young females in a car outside the home. The females were not hit.
The two suspects then left in a dark-colored vehicle.
Roby later turned himself in around noon Sunday. He was charged with especially aggravated robbery and aggravated assault.
Authorities confirmed one of the people inside the house was the stepson of a Rutherford County Sheriff's deputy. Neither the victim nor the deputy's identity was known.
Meanwhile, neighbors said they are stunned something like this happened in their normally quiet community.
“It’s a very safe neighborhood great neighbors great people and hearing something like that go on makes you feel nervous,” Rob Meikle.
Anyone with information on Ohaekwe’s whereabouts has been urged to contact Detective Rick Hall at 615-267-5012 or Smyrna Police at 615-459-6644.
