Local Muslim Women Discuss National Issues

Posted

Muslim women from across Nashville have been speaking out about challenges they're facing.

They came together Saturday for a panel discussion in Nashville.

The women discussed everything from how the Trump administration policies have impacted them, to how to respond.

The panel featured women from different mosques who have different perspectives.

“The goal is to put a face to some of the things that is happening and to get people more involved. When you put a face to a story, you know there are real people behind what you see. You can connect to them better,” Zulfat Suara, Chair of American Muslim Advisory Council.

The event was held at the Greater Nashville Unitarian Universalist Church.
