A home in La Vergne was destroyed in a fire.
The fire happened in the 700 block of Willowview Drive around 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
One woman was inside at the time, and authorities confirmed she got out safely; however, a dog in the home sadly did not survive.
Heavy flames were visible when crews got to the scene.
No injuries were reported, but the home was considered a total loss.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
