Metro Police said they're investigating a deadly shooting at a gas station near Hadley Park.
The incident happened around 1:45 a.m. Friday at the Marathon on John A. Merritt Boulevard.
Police said the victim, later identified as 35-year-old Quinton Thornton, was at a pump near his car when he was shot.
Reports stated Thornton got into a conversation with the two suspects outside of an older model gray Lincoln Continental.
Authorities said when Thornton walked over to the Lincoln, he was shot in the back before the shooter jumped into the Lincoln with the driver and fled.

Thornton was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he later died.
A motive in the shooting was not yet known. Police released surveillance photos of the shooter and getaway driver involved in the crime.
