Fortified Warrior Ninja Obstacle Training Classes A New Kind Of Family Fitness

There's a new kind of family fitness in town and more and more Tennesseans are trying it out. It's called Fortified Warrior Ninja Obstacle Course - and it'll have you and your kids swinging from the ceiling.

"We started opening to the public for open gyms three weeks ago so it's really new but it's happening really fast," said Wayne Burns, owner of Fortified Fitness.

Burns has created a course that keeps kids occupied for hours. There are warped walls, monkey bars, ledges and ropes ladders.

The new gym is 2400-square-feet of pure fitness disguised as fun.

"Kids don't even know they're working. They're having fun but they're getting stronger," he said.

Burns built the gym himself.

"I've been in construction most of my adult life," he said.

Now he's had hundreds of new clients sign up for his "Fortified Ninja Warrior" classes, pushing themselves physically and tackling new challenges.

While the gym may look like a playground for kids, Burns insists this form of fitness works for anyone who wants to overcome obstacles.

"As old as you want to be. I'm 50-years-old I'm the best shape of my life because I'm training," he said.
